Something Practical You Can Do for Victims

If you would like to do something practical about helping the victims of child abuse, neglect, and destitution, please consider becoming a foster parent.

There are countless children out there without a truly loving home because the child welfare system has removed them from their abusive home. Unfortunately, many of these children end up bouncing from foster home to residential treatment center to psychiatric hospital and so on ... for years in desperation and agony until adulthood, at which point they have a tremendous likelihood of ending up incarcerated or homeless.

Being a foster parent is not an easy job -- I can tell you this from personal experience. But, if you can make the commitment, like the Peace Corps, it will be "the toughest job you'll ever love."

So, think about it. A wounded child, or two, needs your unconditional love. There may be no greater gift YOU personally can give to this world than to open your heart and home to a child in need. It is your chance to do something truly great in your lifetime.
